when bottling or kegging do i want to avoider splashing and getting it frothy ?

try and splash it in to get air into it ?

or will it make no difference ?

one more question wile you on a roll :)

iv seem people say they shake the bottle the mix the priming sugar in . is that right ? seem wrong or is it ok ones there sealed ?

cheers d

just one more , promise :)

i think i may of cocked the batch priming up last time .

if i batch prime in to my keg how can i make sure the sugars all mixed in even before i take some out to bottles ?

cheers

ask as many as you like ;) batch prime , 80g for plastic keg and upto 120g for plastic king keg dissolve sugar(or dme) first in some boiled water (about 1/2 pint) then let cool and add to keg first then add brew (no splashes) then add remaining brew (from fermenting vessel not keg)to bottles by adding dry sugar 1tsp per litre (approx half tsp per pint) then add brew to bottles that way there will be enough sugar in glass bottles as when using kegs less sugar is used in total , but..... if you wanted to batch prime and add all brew to bottles you would add 10g per litre so 23 litres would be 230 g (boil water dissolve etc cool first) to 2nd vessel (clean) to batch prime first then add brew then transfer to bottles , hope i didn't confused you as i tend to say it easier than i can write it down lol

thanks for help . i am a little confused , last time i put 85g sugar into the keg and syphoned the beer on top of it .

so had 40 pints of hopefully all the same mix ,

then syphoned some out to bottles so it would all be the same .

apart from maybe i should of dissolved the sugar in water did i get that wrong ?

my plan this time was to measure 85g out and take 1/2 ts out of the 85g for each pint bottle then stick the rest in the keg .

what do you think ?

:) cheers

beers need a little more than 80g but thats the max most plastic kegs can safely handle so just chuck 80g in if your gonna put most of beer in and only bottle a few depends on how much you want to keg and bottle ?

iv got about 10 pint bottles and the rest would go in the keg

this one is a lager , and i like fizz :)

ok nice one , that is my new plan then :) mite be tomorrow .

cheers for help :)
