I brewed some exmoor beast clone on friday SG was 1.060 it now seems to have stopped fermenting and the gravity is 1.020 do you reckon its finished fermenting. Ive stirred it as i thought the yeast was asleep but alas another 24 hours later and its the same :? :? I might leave it till the weekend and go ahead and bottle it

That's a fair bit of attenuation already... what yeast did you use, and what temp did you mash at?

mash was 66 deg and used s04 yeast
I've only got limited AG experience (about 10 brews so far, but have used either S04 or 05 in all of them) but I would expect S04 to go lower than 1020 even with an OG of 1060. I'd leave it a few more days - it won't hurt, I have left mine three weeks in the FV with no problems at all - and see if it drops a couple more.

If you're going to bottle you will need to make sure it's gone as low as it's going to, otherwise exploding bottles could ensue. It sounds like it's going to be a nice, sweet, strong beer :thumb:

I agree it has that strong treacle like smell to it ill take a hydrometer reading thursday then again saturday if it hasnt moved ill bottle sunday :thumb:
