My first ever kit brew (Woodforde's Wherry) has now conditioned in the bottles for 4 weeks, 2 weeks warm and 2 weeks cold. The taste is incredible. Its gorgeous, deep and delicious. It feels nice in the mouth with just the right amount of carbonation. However, it has absolutely no head. If I pour if from a height I can get foam on the top, but this dissipates in no time at all.

It's very strange, because it's definately carbonated from the feel in my mouth. Any ideas?

If your glass has been washed using washing up liquid then any residue from that will get rid of the foamy head in no time. Something to do with the surface tension .... Try an keep a glass specifically for beer drinking and only wash it with plain water (it's still hygenic if you use hot water and rinse off in cold).

or wash up as usual but rinse your glass several times before pouring your pint.

I had similar problems when i didn't use a dedicated beer glass. Some had great head, some didn't. Then i found out, if the glass was used for drinking various stuff, including milk, it could react on some beers, causing the head to die quickly, or not to appear at all.

It stopped when i got myself a nice collection of different beer glasses, and washed them all by hand.

Not sure if this is your problem, but it may be.
