Hi folks, Well the wherry has been in the keg for all of 6.75 day's and I took the advice of more experienced brewers and made a second batch (Ruby Red Ale) but curiosity got the better of me and I'm now doing a quality control check on the second glass of the wherry. It came out of the keg at the sort of pressure you associate with a coventry climax pump (anyone who's been in the Royal Navy can elucidate further), and the beer is cloudy.
Daft question 1. Is it ok to be drinking this at this stage?
Daft question 2. Do I need to add finings to the keg to make the beer clearer?
Daft question 3. In fact what are finings?

Thanks

It will come out quick and frothy as their will be considerable pressure in the keg.
It will clear in 4-6 weeks.
It is fine to drink, you will just fart a lot, and most likely not have solid stools in the morning.
No need to add finings.
Finings are either Isinglass, "out of a fishes stomach", or you can use gelatine or polyclar.

Phew, you're right about the farting :thumb:

I like your web site, looks like a great set up. Once I've brewed a few kits I'd really like to get into AG

Thanks I am in the process of a few more upgrades to the SS brewery, so there will be quite a bit of change on the site soon! With some new Goodies to look at.

Though of course most of the upgrades will be posted on here first.
