Hi i had 2 smack packs which were fully smacked and ready for a starter, i checked my store of DME and realised i only had 60 - 70 grams wheat dme so i added about 15grms of caster sugar to bulk it up and put into 1 litre which i split in half . Would using caster sugar cause any after taste changes in the develpoement of yeast etc.
Any have experience using aqaurium heaters put on a brew at the weekend and used my new aquarium heater , set it for 18 degrees and let it sit , i had another a Atc 1000 reading the temperature as well . The brew had gone from 20 degree on pitching to 14 in the morninig ,
Has anyone experienced poor readings on these things , or are they slow to regulate the temperature , either my atc or the the heater is wrong i dont know which
