Hi, this is my first extract brew I intend to do. Having only played with kits by dry hopping etc I am very inexperienced with it. I do want to go all grain but can't right now, so in an attempt to improve my brews I'm hoping to go extract. My question is for the following recipe how much liquid malt extract should I use?

Ingredients:

Malts

11.5 lbs Maris Otter Extra Pale Malt

Hops

1/2 oz. Chinook 13%a, 60 minutes

1 oz. Ahtanum 6%a, 15 minutes

1/2 oz. Nelson Sauvin 12%a, 15 minutes

1/2 oz Simcoe 13%a, 10 minutes

1/2 oz. Chinook 13%a, at flameout

1/2 oz. Nelson Sauvin 12%a, at flameout

1/2 oz Simcoe 13%a, at flameout

Yeast: WLP007 Dry English Ale or Wyeast 1098 British Ale

With that in mind so long as I pick something like muntons extra pale malt extract am I likely to get something close to the taste of brewdog punk IPA? Thanks all. Lewis.

Why not try an American IPA or American Pale Ale kit and dry hop with Chinook, Nelson and Simcoe? Might work?

Thanks I was thinking about doing an ipa and using some of the wort to boil the hops for the appropriate times. Not too sure how it will turn out so I'm going to try the punkie ipa. Just have to convert a plastic fermenting bucket into a brew kettle.
