After the results with SecondtoNone's punch recipe success with Robinsons Tropical, I decided to give another variety a try...

6l of this stuff
3kg sugar
5 tsp youngs super duper wine yeast compound

sg 1.055 so est 7.3 something if it gets to 1.000... whooosh heheView attachment 2355

maybe it should be called punch in the trops then :-P

What I've noticed with my tropical fruit punch is that I tend to concentrate on the tropical and fruit bit forgetting all about the punch bit that's in the post.

Like your set-up! Yep, I've now made all the varieties of the Robinsons Barley punch I can find (all the one's containing Barley anyway) so new projects always welcome.

Because the juice you have used here does not contain Barley do you ad Glycerine to it?

no I didn't actually.. hmm

just checked sg today and it's not moved at all although it looks like it had done something (separated with krausen on top)

How's is going now? Any change?

Do you plan on back-sweetening this? Made 20L of peach using 4 robinsons bottles and 20L of Summer Fruits the same way and both seem really watery :/

The tropical one I made came out pretty good after a few weeks conditioning, kind of like a bacardi breezer kind of thing.

I'm using a bit more cordial than you though, 6 x 1ltr bottles for 25l total volume.

It didn't need back sweetening for me, as there's already artificial sweetener in the juice (hence the 'no added sugar' on the label etc..)

Ah, guess my issue is I used too few cordials. Will make with more next time. Wonder if straight cordial added to each bottle would have enough sugar to prime :)

I don't think so mate, I didn't actually check the sugar content of the cordial but I'd be guessing it's probably not high enough to prime with

ah yeh, so it was more like 8% (as it fermented below the 1.000 I expected), no wonder it blew my head off woo hoo
