I'm working in Brummy land at the moment, and will be stuck in a hotel in Sutton Coldfield, including some weekends. I went on a run around the area the other night and could only see a couple of chain pubs. Can anyone point me in the direction of any pubs / bars with decent cask for me to cry into whilst lamenting not being in the countryside?

jjsh you’ve just taken me back to my student days at Perry Bar when I had digs for 8-9 months in Sutton Coldfield. Not far from the Conservative Club(?) on Rectory Road.

I can only remember a pub called the Three Tuns as you left the town going up a bit of a hill and borrowing motoring books from the library (classic cars and racing were obviously my first love) and I guess the Library and the Three Tuns are both now well gone.

Hi..
I'm a Sutton Coldfield native...Albeit I live in Mere Green where there's a excellent spoons called the Mare Pool
The tuns is ok,but it shows a lot of sport. At the top end of Sutton..towards the cinema, there is a good bar with daily choices called the craft inn..There is also a pub whom brew onsite,Brewhouse andKitchen..Personally it's a little hit and miss as I think i do usually better...They have a few choices in the Station, which is my fave in terms of vibe
