Is it possible to make a priming mix? Say add treacle and dme to a bit of boiling water, cool and add it to bottles. I really don't want to just add sugar as I have been doing. Treacle sounds awesome but going to be messy and difficult to put in bottles. Also is the amount of liquid sugar ie treacle/golden syrup etc the same as regular sugar. I usually add half a teaspoon per bottle for an ale. Also is there anything that can add some sweetness at this stage. All of my sugars have fermented out and I'm left with quite a bitter dark ale. Thanks in advance

Why not batch prime just add the total amount of sugar needed to alittle boiling water, add this to a spare fv then drop your beer onto this give it a little stir and bottle. You will get more even carbonation this way. I usually use a rate of 4-5g/L for ale, 6-7g/L for cider.

I Have no second fv to do a batch prime :( unless someone on here has got an old fv and are in the Birmingham area then that's out of the question. Any other ideas??
