I have a couple of pvââ¬â¢s store in my shed out side and Iââ¬â¢ve been pouring pints most nights but Iââ¬â¢ve noticed the tap has started to go mouldy! How do I stop this happening?

FWIW I would certainly fuss over it as mould spores are very harmful to your health and I would imagine in a cold shed it would be of the black variety and I wouldn't recommend ingesting any:thumb:Stop fussing!
Clean it up as best you, than continue to enjoy your beer. As long as the mould doesn't get back into the PB its fine, and that won't happen whilst there is more pressure in the PB than outside.
When the PB is empty, take the tap off and clean it as best you can, or replace it if you really want, the cost is minimal. But if you try to dismantle it to clean it may not be pressure tight when re-assembled
Mould spores are everywhere, you just can't see them. I scrape visible mould from the top of jam and cut it from cheese on the rare occasions it appears and I haven't so far suffered any ill effects from eating what's left. That's what people used to do years ago. Food moulds such as on cheese and bread are quite harmless,I myself just pick or slice it off,but what we are talking is probably the different kind of moulds that thrive in wet dank environments like sheds and in un aired bathrooms,these kind of moulds are far more dangerous. So just getting on and cleaning your PB tap if it looks a bit mouldy is really just common sense I would have thought, and if you do it properly you ain't going to get poorly imo, even though there might be a few mould spores left after you've done it.
Just for reference,what color is it?Sorry don't have a pic, i needed a pint so cleaned it all off with a kitchen wipe! I was just wondering how i could stop it whilst enjoying the beer and the post about spraying sanitiser would seem to be the best idea.
