I have just racked my wherry ale from my primary fv into a youngs pressure barrell. Can anyone tel me how long I have to keep the barell at room temp to fully carbonate before moving it somewhere cooler to clear. I normally bottle but thought I would try a pressure barell. This time. Does it take longer to carb in the barell than it does in bottes? I added 5ozs of dextrose to the barell then syphoned the beer on top up to 5 galins

I keep mine at fermentation temps for about a week, then bung it somewhere cooler for about 2 weeks, by which time it is usually ready for drinking with most standard kits. Some of the more fancy ones take much longer, but I always bottle these to prevent them hogging a barrel for so long.
