Hi All,
Just coming to the end of my first successful home brew and now itching to get another on the go.
The equipment I bought came with Woodfords Wherry and I must admit I’ve really enjoyed drinking it to the point I will be buying it again..But for my second brew go I want to try something different.
I am partial to IPA's but the ‘darker’ IPA's (is that an oxymoron?) and I’m especially fond of beers that are brewed with American cascade hops like Hawkshead gold.
So can anyone recommend a premium kit that’s an IPA style that’s slightly sweet?
Having said that I also enjoy full bodied ‘ruby ales’

I have looked around and the choice is a little bewildering but I like the sound of either Brupaks or Milestone kits.

I can't rate the Woodfordes Nelsons Revenge highly enough, fantastic pint.
Also the Better Brew IPA has good reviews and i have one conditioning in bottles too.
St Peters Ruby Red also has great reviews too.

There's lots to choose from but if i were to do another it would one of these 3.

+1 for Better Brew IPA. If you like the American style citrusy flavours then do it the way I did...

- substitute the sugar for a 1.8kg tin of liquid malt extract
- after 7 days, dry hop with 40g Chinook (have a search there are loads of threads on how to dry hop successfully)
- leave it another week at least before bottling

It's a belter of a pint! :thumb:

Called in the shop(Stockport brewing centre) and was a little overwhelmed by choice.

Took note of the recommendations on here but was steered towards this:-

They are new kits(apparently) and get great reviews.
So, whats in the box:-
2 bags of liquid malt
1 bag of priming suger.
Yeast
bag of hop pellets
straining bag to be placed over the siphon.

I shall get this on the go next week and record a review on here in the coming weeks.

If the porter I have is anything to go buy, you will not be disappointed! Great choice!
