Are the packaging re-usable? Might buy some if they were. I could send some users some brews and they could return the favour and I get the packaging back.

Was away at the weekend but finally managed to pick my bottle up today, cheers!

I'll send mine at the weekend when it should be ready :)

Received mine today! Many thanks, impressed with the packaging. Will return the favour once mine are up and running. Cheers.

couldn't wait any longer had to sample...

Nice hoppy pale ale really enjoyed it.

Bottle of Stout on its way....

id love to know how royal mail work out their charges im returning a coopers bottle so thefore has to be lighter than the glass......

Glad you enjoyed it  I am slowly increasing the hop rates on this particular recipe to see how far I can go.

I look forward to trying the stout. This is a style I like but have yet to get round to brewing one.

I think Royal Mail charge the same as long as the package is under 2kg (and size restrictions). The advantage with PET bottles comes because you can usually get two in at under 2kg, whereas glass bottles are just over and the rate rises sharply.

By the way, I found the recipe sheet under the address sticker thing. Really good idea. I've enclosed the recipe details and the brewing log in mine when I sent it yesterday. So for info :-

CH is the temp of the brew chamber (fridge)
FV is the temp of the FV
M is either AM or PM which is when I recorded the readings and/or added a comment.

As you will see from the other comments box at the bottom this is the brew with the kamikazi fruit fly :-)

Well I must say this has gone really well and will, hopefully, inspire others to do something similar. I find it very rewarding to share this hobby with others and try a few different beers.

I have tried the first swap and full marks to BaggyBill's stout :drink::cheers:

I try not to drink during the week so I'll be having yours tomorrow and sending mine on Saturday.

Looking forward to your verdict!

To be honest, it's always been the thought off faffing about with packaging, safe posting etc. that put me off bottle swaps in the past.

You made it easy for us, just re-use the packaging and send somit back. Like I said before, good investment there :thumb:

Finally got round to trying your BIPA and I really enjoyed it, nicely carbonated and very refreshing. A little lighter than mine I think (both in colour and in roasty flavours) but none the worse for it.

Sorry for the delay in sending mine, it's all packaged up now and will be at the post office tomorrow morning, hope you like it as much as I liked yours :D

Glad you enjoyed it. The keg version I am drinking at the moment has improved with age and is spot on.
I am quite pleased with it for a first attempt at this style, which I think is very difficult to get right. The recipe was concocted from scratch on the brew morning.
I was wary of it being too roasty so tried not to overdo the cara 3, so it is not as black as I had hoped.
