There's been a suggestion that formal celebration of Christmas should be "postponed" until the summer, as a way of discouraging gatherings in December and keeping the pressure off the NHS.
I can see how many people would hate the very idea, but it wouldn't stop people doing anything Christmasy at all, and it would at least give retailers/pubs etc a second bite of the cherry (assuming they make it to summer). And saying that there would be Christmas, just not in December might take the pressure off people who feel they "ought" to be doing something.
So what do people think?
