Polish Brewer's yeast sold for equestrian use

A horsey girl I know has offered me some brewers yeast, she feeds to horses for some reason and buys it by the kilo.

It has some kind of reference number (she told me but I didn't write it down) which leads me to believe its some kind of specific strain of yeast.

I very much doubt that it would be any good but I'm tempted to give it a blast with a 1 gallon smash.

So opinions, total waste of time or worth a try?

Will this not be by product, processed in to whichever form, similar to that processed into marmite?

No idea, hence the thread! Although I would expect there to be a difference between Marmite is yeast extract and this is brewer's yeast.

Jeltz, this will tell you all about it, it is dead yeast but a good source of B vitamins so do cadge some and add a tsp per gal as a booster.

you can take it yourself, great digestive aid and much cheaper than Chemists bottles of the same.
