Hi

I'm relatively new to brewing but have already encountered the problem of a cardboard bottle box giving way on me and losing precious beer to the floor!

Does anyone know a reasonably priced supplier of stackable plastic crates, much like the old 'pop man' used to deliver the bottles in? I know many pubs / restaurants use these but believe they return them to the supplier to have them refilled.

Any advice would be great!

Try Ebay - I was looking for crates a while back and they had them on there though I didn't get any as they looked a bit bulky to me, so I made my own out of plywood and stuff. Much more compact as I made them to fit 20 bottles exactly without dividers between the bottles as I only use them in the house for storage and not rattling about in the back of a lorry.

Thanks for the info... I've checked eBay, but it seems with the current popularity of HomeBrew people are charging a premium for used crates.

The plywood idea is a fantastic idea! I hadn't thought of that but I think its a goer!

Thanks again

Have a look at these.

Thank you! I think they'd be perfect... I'd struggled to find anything like that with the right height for bottles with swing top but think that should do it!

I'll crack out my tape measure!
