Pint head - What does this mean to you?

Here's the head of some Old Speckled Hen that was on pub cask. I'm not sure if it always appears like this but I have noticed it a few times on maybe other beers too although hadn't given it much thought until OH asked.

Random bubbles with dud parts of white.

For some people the 'head' is part of the experience, but it doesn't bother me too much, as long as it tastes nice...I'm happy!

Depends where your from. If you got served that in a northern pub it'd be returned! Personally I like a proper head on my beers!

As a northerner and proud of it, I need about 3/4" of nice tight head on a pint which laces all the way to the bottom.

None of this southern Jessie stuff (though i do think southerners brew a good pint, they just don't know how to serve it to my liking). :P :P

You obviously didn't read the bit in brackets. I like southern beer, I just like a bit of a creamy head, I understand that a head knocks the Sh*t out of the aroma of a beer hence why northern beers tend to have less hop aroma.

I was actually referring to the picture in question. And how random the head was, as opposed to something totally uniform like you'd get out a can or bottle. Does the head in the pic mean it's an old keg?

if its cask beer is prob pretty normal, perhaps not very fresh but still ok.

Depends what drink it is really.

The only drink I care about the head on is Guinness. The head on that has to be around 1 inch.
