In the calculator for water treatment, what is the relationship between 85% phosphoric and CRS. I suppose what I am asking is what strength CRS is, I have some food grade stuff in 5ltr, as 250ml of CRS does not last too many 120ltr treatments with my HCO3 up at 146, and I mostly do pale ales.
When the calculator says add 50ml CRS.................= ? H3PO4.

Hi Bru,

I've just spent the last 30 minutes looking for my Acid Treatment spreadsheet, as I was sure I had a section in that for Phosphoric . . . . Unfortunately I only Have the equivilants of Hydrochloric, Sulphuric and Lactic, which is a PITA. . . . If I get a coupl eof hours I will look at adding phosphoric to that list as well. . . . but please do not hold your breath :D

Thanks Aleman,
I saw this on a site "The amount of acid it takes to lower the water’s alkalinity, and with it the residual alkalinity, by 100 ppm as CaCO3"
Phosphoric Acid 85% 0.14ml/ltr
Hydrochloric Acid 37% 0.16ml/ltr
Lactic Acid 88% 0.17ml/ltr

the site is Here no doubt you've seen it. But I don't know where CRS fits in.
