hi guys the question is in the title, been offered one at a slightly lower than retail price but theres a mixed bag of posts about them on here some saying they are prone to cutting out,are they ok if they don't have a thermostat,do they hold a rolling boil ok are they better than the smaller volume electrim,so chuck your thought on them at me before I decide as to wether I buy it :thumb:

Had mine for over a year now and love it, doesn't cut out and maintains a boil. I only use it for BIAB.

ive not had mine long and used it twice, its not as shiny as id have liked (i like shiny) but it does waht i want it too, it boils water.
its not the quickest but it works well,
i thought the cutting out was the Ace boiler?

As above I thought it was another type (ACE?) that cut out.

Been very happy with my HBC peco, tempted to fit another element to speed up the boil but lots of brews this year and no real problems, just keep the lead/element dry.

Done 11 BIABs in mine and I'm very happy with it. For me it's been an excellent low-cost step up to AG.
