Nutrient doesn't appear overly necessary but wouldn't hurt. Make sure you leave space in the top of the fermenting vessel as it can get quite excited early on.

Sorry to ask, but what is TC? Some sort of Cider?
Turbo Cider, it's just supermarket apple juice plus yeast.

In my opinion, it's just tramp juice, although that opinion is subject to revision after I've sampled a bottle which Evanvine has sent me.

Ah, thanks for that. :)

Right, i started the process last night with 3 litres in a DJ as i was expecting a frothing of WOW proportions, but was dissapointed to see just a thin "scum/head" on the brew this morning. Im planning to top up to the neck after day 3 but am concerned that i may be onto a loser.

the airlock is bubbling so summuts happening, but its very slow.

is this normal and should i add the extra litre now.

SG was 1045 so a ABV of around 6% expected

thanks

Neil

I'd give it a damn good swirling and then put it in a sink full of quite warm water, hopefully it'll speed up. :)

ok just given it a swirl and its now standing in the sink in warm water.
the brew has changed colour overnight and is now a cloudy light brown colour.

will keep you posted.

ill take an gravity reading later and see "whats occurin"

Superb !

in my experience the t/c never ferments like a wow.... :thumb:
its a much slower process, probably as there is a lot less sugar.... ;)
i always give them a shake up every other day during fermenting....if its in a small enough fv,
i dont if its in my 6 gallon fv....

then leave for a week b4 1st racking.....
