I'm accumulating a nice selection of ingredients which will need to be used up at some point.

I have MO, Lager Malt and Pils Malt in various weights. As a learning point for me, would these grains be pretty much interchangeable as a base malt?

More or less, depending on what you are brewing.

MO is a good base for ales, the others as the name suggests. You can also mix your base malts into combinations. Your malts are all light base malts but each will have their own flavour and all will add something different to the brew.

If you used pils malt to make an ale, it would be very light, poss something like Summer Lightning in colour and maltiness.
