Hello, I hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday weekend.

I was hoping to get my midas touch bottled, but I took it out of the fermentation fridge where it has sat at around 18C to find it had stuck at 1.020 (exactly the same as the wherry did when I made it) so I gave it a gentle stir, and it will sit indoors until next weekend as its bubbling again slowly. On a plus note, I did go to a boot sale the other day and managed to get a glass carboy with a screw top lid for £5, bargain considering I was going to order one last week and pay over £30 for it. :thumb:

Anyway, I paid my local home brew shop a quick visit today to see what they had in, and I found a Muntons midland mild ale kit on offer for £5, it is almost a year past its BBE, which I am not fussed about as I have made plenty of kits that are out of date, with no problems at all.

The kit itself has a fresh packet of muntons active brewing yeast stuck to the lid, but as I have never made this style of beer before, I was wondering what fermentables to add. Light medium or dark spraymalt? I was also wondering if it would be worth seeing if I can get hold of some of the cheap liqiud malt extract H&B have on offer at the moment with their penny sale.

Does anyone have any suggestions regarding fermentables for this kit? any reviews would also be interesting to read as I cant seem to find much on this kit at all.

I dont think I will be getting this going for another couple of weeks, but shall post reviews etc once I do get it underway.

Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday weekend, Cheers!!
