Last week I was passing a not that local homebrew shop and amongst other things bought a sachet of dried yeast.

When I got home I noticed it expired in November 2015.

Do you think that this would be OK to use?

I bought a massive selection of gervin yeasts 25p each out of date by a few months. Never had any problems.

Wish I'd known this before I chucked about 6 sachets from my haul of 2nd hand equipment I got a few weeks ago!

If it has been refrigerated it should be fine. Last week I used a pack of Windsor ale yeast that had an expiry date of 9-2009; no problems at all.

Thanks everyone. I emailed the shop and they too have confirmed it's OK to use and are also sending me a new sachet as a goodwill gesture.

I did a brew over the weekend and used the yeast and it is happily fermenting away.
