I've just made a Festival Old Suffolk Strong Ale kit and after I'd added the yeast I realised I hadn't checked the temperature which was showing 26c, it specifies that the yeast should be added when it's below 25c, I am using one of the stick on thermometers though so not sure how accurate it is?! What would adding the yeast at too high a temperature result in, would it kill off or would it just not work until it reached the desired temperature? :/

I would be surprised if it had any major effect - I seem to recall those stick-on thermometers aren't renowned for their accuracy in the first place, as you say. I reckon you'll be okay. You can get pretty accurate digital thermometers from fleabay for a few quid.
