I was reading somewhere (I think on here) about someone successfully using an electric mixer to combine the coopers tin, 2 litres of boiling water and Brew Enhancer.

Sounds great I thought, particularly as the brew enhancer looked a bit clumpy.

Anyway, I now have an FV with a 4 inch frothy head!!!!

So far the mixture is upto the 16 litre mark and the head takes it up to the 23 litres mark.

Any suggestions as to how I get the rest of the water in without overflowing.

Also can you pitch yeast on top of the foam or should I try and "part the foam" and pop the yeast in.

You live and learn

Just leave it a while and then top up. If you add the yeast dry, mix it in and it will be fine. In a day or two the foam will have subsided so you can top it up.

You could put the yeast in some water and brew enhancer / dry malt extract / glucose / malt extract and then pour the mix through the foam :)

On the plus side, that's one way of getting air into the wort, although I'm not sure I'll be trying it :D

What a flap I was in

Anyway, as I added a litre of water I noticed the foam collapsing so all I had to do was water very specifically as I added the next Five litres and away it went!

It looked well mixed anyway!

Thanks for the replies.
