Its not me, if it was i would have sent it to my local paper.

Agree with Chippy_tea. It should be in the public domain send it to your local paper, might stop Old Bill being so high handed in the future.

They'll just find out who sent it and harass you, I got on the wrong side of a couple of constables once and every single time they saw me they made a point of stopping me and sitting me in the car to ask where I was going where I had been who I had been with, and no I'm not dodgy by the way I was just a smart arse to them one night and they told me they were gonna make my life he'll for it and they did, I complained at the reception at the police station and was told to piss off, they do what ever they please, but the same as every group of people, they're not all bad, just the ones in Dunfermline !!!!

That's been doing the rounds on all the bookface type sites.

To be honest I don't think phonecalls are too bad when driving, if you're just breezing down a quiet road you can talk on the phone if you really have to. You're going to be paying the same amount of attention as using a hands free kit or talking to a passenger.

It's the idiots who text and email and all this, look at the ******* road!

I don't do either mind you, never felt the need to drive and talk on the phone at the same time seeing as my phonecalls tend to go
"Pub?"
"Yeah"
"Sweet, 7?"
"Done"
"See you there"

I see an awful lot of people now who are clearly texting on their phones - phone on their knee, eyes staring at the phone and not out in front of them  Then there's also people who don't stop to use their phone - they put their hazard lights on, slow down to 5mph on a busy road and expect people to overtake their snail's pace, at huge risk of causing an accident. For god's sake just pull over and stop!!

Mobiles dominate people's life's now, ****** state of affairs, if your up town or on a bus or anywhere Infact, everyone is staring at a phone.

They should be made so they don't work at anything more than walking pace, we never had them not that many years ago and we managed without them.

I thought it was just that way here in the US. I was in China in March and most folks there had their faces buried in a mobile. Mind you, I'm just as guilty but what have we become??? <as he sits and types at a computer screen to people across the pond...>

No proof that the Police man is driving thou to be honest. He could be parked up.

Re texting. The reason phones are on peoples laps is because they know it is illegal and hiding them and texting is far more dangerous than if it was not illegal and people could text and have there hand on the wheel phone in full view and still keep eyes on rd.

I drive for a living so don't do text or take calls if my phone goes i wait till i stop which could be 1 or 2 hours before i look at it.

Apparently it's not a copper at all, it's alleged to be a stage hand moving a prop.

Proof or no proof isn't really the issue, I wouldn't have thought. It would be more to do with setting the right example. If that was really a policeman he would get into trouble for that, as it's not the sort of impression they want to give to the public... and as we know, there are eyes & phones everywhere :D

I don't think this thread should be describing any people who work in a certain profession as c**ts as in c**ntstables. I thought that sort of thing would be against the forum rules.

Is a very fair point, SIAT. Some of our esteemed members may indeed be boys (or girls) in blue.

FWIW, my ex-neighbour is a copper and the word in copper world is that it's not a copper at all. The still is apparently from a video which has circulated in the past, the van has some marking or other that denotes it to be a "prop", most likely owned by a prop-rental company or film studio.

The reason for that is simple: they're not just phones. Mine also functions as my watch, e-reader, calendar, address book, MP3 player, radio, camera, alarm clock, calculator, word-processor - I'm just waiting for one that does the washing up!

I'm switching to a dumb phone when this one dies.

I have to leave it in a different room when I'm watching the telly or I constantly have the urge to google stuff.
Stopped getting push emails and stuff.

I basically try to keep all internet based stuff to the desk now, barely use my laptop or tablet.
