I have a brewferm gran cru i bottled a week ago i have been keeping them in the living room since. Just a moment ago one of them exploded the bottle that did was of a poorer quality thinner glass than the other ones i used, the rest are belgian beer bottles and swing tops. i bottled them at 1008 and primed them with the reccomended amount of sugar. should i just uncap them all and say goodbye to the brew or could this be an isolated incident due to the thinner bottle. Help apreciated thanks in advance.

It could be an isolated incident, but you might be better off moving them somewhere a bit colder.

OTOH, at least you know they've carbonated

If you're going to uncap them, make sure you pour them down ze little red lane

I don't understand the problem here, if he just eases an edge of each cap to let out a bit of fizz and then re-applies the capper, or removes a cap and immediately fits a new one, why wouldn't that work?

Mick: I wouldn't even contemplate chucking the brew :thumb:

Just re-read and noticed the rest are swing tops. Even easier.

Thanks everyone for your advice i just opened another one(for educational purposes i had to drink it :drink: ) it had a good carbonation but nothing that you dont get from brews of that type so im going to leave them. like i said the rest are far more sturdy bottles few swingtops and mainly newkie brown fingers cossed they should hold. I dont know what i was thinking about "chucking the brew" i think i may have to open a few more tonight again for test and educational purposes :drunk: you understand!!

**UPDATE**
No other bottles have exploded since just got back from working away and the others are drinking very well
