This is driving me crazy. Got a HTPC with this HD satellite DVB S2 card inside (using my old Sky dish)
http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/product ... ahds2.html
Nice picture, works fine. Don't know if you noticed the BBC HD channels changed a bit recently (we now have BBC HD Scotland,BBC HD Wales, BBC One HD,BBC 2 HD) I can pick up Scots & Welsh, but not 1 & 2. Tried an individual transponder scan,no joy. Updated satellites.xml list,no joy. Hauppauge are about as much help as a chocolate teapot.
Any suggestions (apart from get a decent DVB S2 card)?

Thanks for the responses.

In answer to what software- Given up with WMC & WinTV.Trying with NPVR & MediaPortal TV server (to be used as a back end in XBMC)

I have looked a couple of times at http://en.kingofsat.net/pos-28.2E.php -its transponder 50 thats giving me issues. Has a FEC of 2/3.
I can receive from transponder 61- I can't grasp any major difference between the frequencies.( This may be down to my ignorance)

I know the Beeb are/have been moving signals about. Will keep tinkering

Fal, as far as I know it's diseqc compatible and HD. Don't like the bundled software & there's some tinkering needed if you want to use it with WMC. Works fine with NPVR & MediaPortal TV server & XBMC-apart from the issue in this thread!

Loving XBMC,thanks for the tips.

Have you got the Notfilmon addon for xbmc, that put my dish away, as channels from around the world are on that!
I needed a 1.2m dish to pick up arabsat 26e, for MBC2, but its now on th plugin via the phone wire!!!!!
;)

Any card which is S2 (satellite) or T2 (terrestrial) will get the HD channels.

Mine works out of the box in WMC. It is a HVR-4000 but I only use the DVB-S/S2.
I'm also using a couple at work to multicast TV over the LAN in Linux.
This was a complete bitch to get working but has been stable for the past few years now.
The streams are started individually from a script, so easy to update if the channel changes.

Have a look at using VLC to tune individual channels so you know if it works or not.

If anyone wants to try MediaPortal (either the client, server, or both), I wrote a setup guide a while back, which might be useful to you: http://www.avforums.com/forums/home-ent ... guide.html

The guide is for 1.2.X and 1.3.0 is not released, so there are some small changes. The biggest of which is that you don't need to setup CODECs anymore, because MP1.3.0 comes supplied with LAV CODECs as part of the installation.

I was part of the MediaPortal documentation team for a while, and much of this guide has now been ported into the wiki. I had to give up being part of the team due to other hobbies... :drink:
