I have just procured a load of these from one of the local pubs and like the sieve head i am, i never even considered whether or not they are suitable for bottle conditioning lager. They are the 500ml glass crown capped type. Has/does any fellow brewers use(d) these or could anyone confirm they will be suitable?

They wont give me the Newcastle Brown bottles. They said they have to return them.

I don't want to end up with a barrage of grenades going off in a few days time if i can help it

I've used them and they're fine. Just keep them out of the light and don't add too much priming sugar (no more than 3g per bottle should do it).

I use these regularly. The labels soak off really easily, and disposing of the contents is fun too :)

Judt remember to keep them out of the sunlight otherwise the beer will oxidise
I will be clogging up the end of my mums shed with them so it will be nice and dark.

She doesn't know that yet though.

I use these to check for clearing the beer, 1 per 24 usually, the rest are brown.
