I am thinking of doing the Old Peculiar from GW book at the weekend.

Read somewhere that black treacle has been also added some times. Can this be added at bottle stage or does it have to go in the boil.

Might just go with basic recipe to start off with.

You'll need to add it to the boil, since it will make up part of the OG. Adding it to the boil will also get rid of any nasties that could ruin your beer :sick:

last 30mins at a guess so it doesnt caramalise too much but make sure you add it by taking off some wort in a pan and add to that so that you can mix it well. Bunging it in could stick to the bottom of the boiler.

Use 2oz as priming sugars .. . . . It don't need more
