Just chucked out very old hydrometer from the 60's, which I found in my mothers house. It had lead shot in it and two scales and a wee removable brass weight in the tail. I guess the idea was that it could be used across a huge range of gravities. Anyway.....in the bin.
 
Why would you chuck it out? - I buy stuff like that at garage sales to stick on my mantle piece!
