Turning the malt at Castle Brewery Cockermouth. Same brewery getting the days deliveries ready. Looks like horse drawn drays and floaters, steam powered drays at the rear. Pre first world war steam powered dray

Staff at Theakston's brewery, I think those things looking a lot like a watering can contains beer. The guy on the right of the photo looks like he is pouring a beer for his mate. The first canned beer in Europe. A floater from Booths brewery, I like the mutton chops.

Wilkins brewery, newtown, bradford on avon (1).jpg

Wilkins brewery, Bradford on Avon. The brewery seemed to take up half the town and built this place as a new malthouse just before going bust. Seems like they over extended themselves... The interesting thing to me is that post WW2 this building was used for assembling Royal Enfield twins - I can't imagine a more inappropriate building for the task but apparently they made it work. Then in the nineties it was converted into flats and my eldest daughter lived there for a while a couple of years ago.
Another shot of the whole brewery:

This is the Hartleys brewery in Ulverston they are currently demolishing it as it has stood empty for many years.

On 21st October 1991, the last brew took place at Hartley’s of Ulverston, ending 250 years of brewing on the site.

The boiler house, chimney and pumphouse were demolished around 1994.
