Oh dear, minor bottling error.

Bottled up the 25L that's been on the kitchen floor since Nov 11th. OG 1.043, 1.5kg sugar, FG 0.995. Sterilised everything, primed the bottles (2L PET recycled), siphoned. Anyway, there was only enough for 11 1/2 bottles, so I thought "Oh, hang on, I'll do a 500ml glass bottle, and drink the rest straight off", so I primed that one, and filled it from the 3/4 bottle........

Um.

I'll put that one out in a shed, and wrap it in a carrot sack just in case, and label it with what's in it, and "WARNING!".

Ah! Sorry, I primed the 2L bottles, including the one I only got 1L into, themn poured a pint's worth into a primed 500ml glass bottle, and capped it.

So the pint's got priming sugar for 2L of cider in (just over) one litre of cider, plus a teaspoon for the pint bottle. So, really, it's nearly triple-primed.

(I only noticed 'cos the sample I tasted was slightly sweeter than I wxpected... it tasets quite goodm, in fact, ad I have been tempted to try some ginger & apple "stuff" tyat's been on top of the range for a while. That's not quite as nice, but again it'sdrinkable. I have also had the Tesco cider I poured yesterday but forgot to dring as well, as a comparison. Home brew is better.

Are you sure a carrot stick will be strong enough?

Once gave a batch of beer that I had bottled primed to my son-in-law. He forgot that I had primed them and also primed them

Being only double primed most of them did explode

Take the cap off and cover it in clingfilm and let it ferment out. Reprime and recap.

I have done that, sort of; loosened th ecap and put kitchen paper sheet folded into quarters over held by a rubber band.

I want to keep a drop for a while. The 2L PET ones should probably be gone late next year.
