As it says I'm off to Bala for a long weekend and a wander up the Rhyd Ddu path on Snowdon Saturday. Hoping weather will hold out, As it stands now no rain forecast for saturday but is for every other day :(
Any way if you happen to see a bloke with big red beard on the news it isn't me ;)

I'm taking a woman thats just been and had her nails done for the weekend, Do you think she's going to walk for 7 hrs in the rain :nono:

IU've only done the PYG and the Miners track on Snowdon. last time I did the Pyg it was 30 degrees plus all the way up and down ! Not been since they have altered the summit facilities ( it was way past its sell by date ) I prefer the little lakes on the way up, especially Glaslyn Lake with its deep blue colour from the copper mines.
There is a letter from a Victorian lady describing how "we have a new hobby in Wales, we dig holes in the ground and pour money into them"! he hee.
Enjoy the weekend Last time I camped around there it was so cold my toothpaste froze in the tube overnight

This is a easy walk for the ladies, last time up was the miners path up and down in 5hrs. That's with fried breakfast of sausages, black and white pud and bacon on summit cooked ourselves in -6 temps with icicles 1 foot long blown horizontally off the trig point. And we came down Crib Goch and Pyg track. The time before that was 2ft of snow up the Miners track only to be blown completely white out half way up, couldn't see paths or nowt so we hasted retreat.

not even got wet on both occasions......
and I shan't be doing it again.... :D

Wow what a day!!! Could not of got the weather anymore perfect :)

Yup couldn't of planned it any better, it pee'd it down sunday and monday.

The summit was like a retail park on saturday morning, but glad we climbed the quiet side, so far fewer people walking this side. Ended up walking around 9 mile doing the Rhyd-Ddu path up and the Southridge down. T shirt all the way up and down lovely not to warm not too cold, even on the exposed ridges.

So I know have a 50% completion rate of climbing this and it's the best views I have ever seen.

Nice photos Nick.

I'm off down to the Lakes in a couple of weeks so I'm hoping to get a day or two like that to get up the hills.

So good we have said we'd never do it again. Next year is already booked and we be off doing the Glyders instead :thumb:
