Hi all, can you help?

Does quikclear clear hazy wine as well as solids?

Should pectolase be added to all wines, and at what stage?

Can you mix yeasts, and when bottling should it still smell of yeast?

At what time do you take your first sg reading, prior to adding yeast?

Thanks

Any finings will clear cloudy wine, by hazy do you mean you didn't use pectolace and now have a pectin haze?
what do you mean by solids?
pectolace should be added at the start.
why do you want to mix yeasts?
Your wine should not smell of yeast.

Yeah pectin haze I think, and solids I mean any particles that may have got through the filter (I have a banana wine which has sat in the dj since last autumn and has not cleared at all, I tried two doses of quikclear without success). I was just interested about combined yeast as low on my normal packet of young's and see there are many others available. If a wine smells of yeast have I done something wrong?

I have never used a filter but doubt what has got through the filter is causing the cloudiness so assume its a pectin haze.

I have read many posts in the forum about different yeast but as i use youngs super wine yeast compound and always have i cannot point you to any one in particular.

I am sure other members will advise.
