Not a Newbie....

I've brewed about a dozen 5-gallon batches (always with Extract) over the last few years. That said, it's been a about three years since doing a homebrew.

I was introduced to homebrewing in about 2014 when I retired from a career in Pulp & Paper (I am a recovering Engineer). It's a great hobby, but difficult to obtain supplies here in small-town Alabama (USA).

I'm posting a question for all you experts on "General Beer Brewing" ....

Why is it more difficult to get supplies down there than anywhere else in USA?
