Anyone know if and where you can get North American malts either US or Canadian?

You may have to go through a US supplier that ships to UK like Northern Brewer. Bad site to visit as it's full of lovely kit etc.

Another strategy is to use british lager malt. It is unlike British Pale as it isn't as bready/grainy a bit like US malt. It is pretty spot on for American pale or amber ales.

Weyermann (based in Bamberg) make a 2 Row Pale Ale malt which to my taste buds doesn't produce quite the bready intense flavours as English malt.

Would that help?
