No head

So my 1st brew is underway, a couple of blips temp wise along the way, but it is bubbling away now.

Now, when I added the cold water the temp was about 14C, following a bit of advice I took some out and boiled it, then added it back to the brew to bring it up to about 20C, then I pitched my yeast, and eventually moved it to a warmer place. As I say the airlock is bubbling so fermentation is happening, but there is absolutely no head on it. When I sterilized my kit (with VWP) I made sure I rinsed it thoroughly, but could some residue cause the loss of head, or some other contamination from somewhere. Will it affect the fermentation, or will a head form as it now gets going?? :hmm:
 
Be patient and leave it alone. It's only been on for 6 hours, it'll get going over the next few days.:thumb:
 
+1 for that, every brew behaves differently, i just forget about it for two weeks then open it up and take a hydro reading.
 
Yeah, don't know why I worried, 22C bubbling like billy-o, with a nice head protecting it :)
 
Sometimes this forums feels like a agony aunt article than a brewing forum :rofl:
 
Yeah, sorry for being a novice. When I used to do this as a kid I never had these forums and my beer turned out OK, but y'know its nice to have these things to ask those who have a bit more experience for advice. Its all a learning curve, soon enough I'll be doing my BIAB, I just want to do it right
 
Yup, and just found out another Jr is on the way!!! Is this about BIAB and the smell? She won't mind, she's an artisan baker and fellow foodie, who's quite excited by my new hobby :)
