Hi All,

I'm wondering if people have used nitrogen bulbs to dispense stouts and 'creamy' ales from a pressure barrel? And if so how did it go? Did you get something similar to a pint of guinness or a 'smooth' bitter with a tighter and longer lasting head? Did you use all nitrogen, or a nitro/co2 mix (like that used in Smooth stouts and bitters?

PS: its really hard to write threads about this without mentioning guinness all the time :D
 
I thought the nitrogen had to be the gas you force carbed with - I've just kegged some ipa with a co2 sparklet and it seems to be coming out with a nice creamy head. Granted it's half a glass of foam but seems to be alright
 
local home brew shop guy recommended these instead of co2 for stout. worked out ok
