Hi everyone, I've just started doing beer brewing (been trying a few wines for a couple of years) put my first ever Woodfordes Wherry kit on yesterday (hoping a kit would get me started ok n hooked on this brewin lark). Just got back from work now, n went in to check its started ok. Its got a good frothy head on it which i'm happy about, looks like its going great guns. What i'm worried about though is that on one side of the head there is a cresent shaped patch of some dark grey green stuff that I don't like the look of. Wondering if this is just some of the kit yeast and will be fine left or, if its something else that could ruin my brew that maybe I sould carefully skim off? Any thoughts greatly recieved.

Also another quick question, it apparently needs moving from the spare room for monday night as we've got guests coming and apparently my brew isn't allowed to share their room :wha:. I was planning on leaving it 10 days to do its thing, so if I move it back tuesday afternoon will it be clear and settled enough come next thursday eve to bottle etc?

Thanks for any help or advice the brewing collective can offer me  James

I wouldn't worry about the beer I don't look for that very reason.

Moving wise should be no problem, just don't splash it about

There's almost always various types of crap in the foam while fermenting, nothing to worry about, unless they are hugely furry, great gobs of slime, or growing arms and legs!

just leave it, once its finished fementing it will all sink to the bottom of the FV. and then you can syphon the beer into bottles or a keg.
