Cider is different to beer as there are negligible proteins to cause "krausen" and foaming, that's why a cider settles into the glass like pop. So you can fill your container pretty full and add a bit more after a day or two. My dedicated cider FV is a 20L camping water barrel which is an accurate measure, and 19L of juice goes in.
Also if you buy a genuine cider yeast, because the residue in your container is basically pure yeast, as opposed to the frightening stuff left over after a beer fermentation, provided the batch has turned out OK then just tip your next lot of juice straight onto the yeast cake. I do this 3 times in a row then clean everything up, get a new yeast and start all over again.
