Hi there

I have just recieved my Wherry Beer starter kit and have a question on sterilising. The tub of sterilising powder says I should use 1 teaspoon disolved for 3 litres of water for a 4.5ltr container. Given that I have a 25 litre brewing bin, does that mean I should use 6-7 teaspoons of powder in 21ish litres of water?

sorry if its a dumb question but I want to get it right
cheers
Pat :-)

Make up 5 litres worth, put one liter in a container and wipe it over everything with a cloth, then tip it away, and pour in a couple of litres of the remainder and give it a good shaking around . . . repeat the shaking once or twice over the next 20 minutes . . . tip it out and rinse well.

You don't need to fill every vessel with the solution a good surface wetting is much more useful and as effective if it is clean . . . hence the wipe round with a cloth first off . . .obviously for smaller items this is more difficult . . . so put more shaking in .
