Hi all,
Just a quick introduction and a bit of info about myself.... I have joined this forum in the hope of getting some info and advice to help me make a start with brewing cider. I have never brewed any drink before, have none of the relavant equipment (apart from a 30ton press in my workshop), have only a basic idea of how to go about making cider that i have read online and i do not have any apple trees lol. But on the plus side, i do have a genuine love of a good natural cider and am keen to learn!!

I would love any advice/tips/help to get me started with my first brew please, and for my first question... I have a lot of apple trees that i can pick from locally but i have no idea what sort they are - they look to be at least 3 different types, can these apples be used for a first attempt or do i need to know what types they are and start doing some apple revision???

Thank you for any help anyone can give me to get me started, including the best place to buy all the bits i need!!

Regards,

Ian

Welcome to the forum, never done cider myself but i'm sure someone will be along to help you out

Hi,
You can make a cracking cider from cheap supermarket apple juice.

Search for Turbo Cider.

BB :drink:

Thanks for the welcome guys :D

BB, I will look into the 'turbo cider', might be worth trying! but i do really want to have a crack at the real thing, so might be a good practise!

I can't wait to get buying the bits i need like buckets, demijohns and bubblers etc and start doing something i have fancied doing for years!
