Do you think it meant Carapils? My understanding that this is very neutral and is just there to provide Dextrine for head retentionPersonally i don't think caramalt has any place in a lager
Caramalt is all I have apart from the torrified wheat, I thought it just added head retention. Should I get some carapilsDo you think it meant Carapils? My understanding that this is very neutral and is just there to provide Dextrine for head retention

Yes; at 3.9 EBC it's a dextrin malt (Carapils is a Weyermann trademark for their dextrin malt). Calling it Caramalt in the recipe is highly misleading since that's a darker crystal that as @BeerCat says does not belong in a pale lager.Do you think it meant Carapils? Agreed regarding the caramalt. Use carapils instead.Personally i don't think caramalt has any place in a lager. I would prefer biscuit malt and ditch the wheat. Get rid of the 20m addition and put them in at flameout. Use at least 2 packs of yeast.
