OK can i put New wort straight into old FV with yeast cake still in?? i have started a brew today and just finnished sparging and only now do i realise i dont have any yeast. I do however have beer ready to be racked from my other FV will it be ok to do this?? please answer fast i only have 90 mins to make a decision ! :cheers: many thanks in advance

It's not the best way to reuse yeast but if you're in a hurry it can be done, you should expect a pretty quick and active fermentation.

Best way is to wash the yeast and take only the healthy white layer when it begins to settle. I'm sure there are vids on youtube that cover it - but if you really are in a hurry you can pour your new wort straight on.

Im brewing an english pale ale 5kg maris otter 300g wheat northern brewer and first gold. thanks for the quick reply. i do have a safale larger yeast do you think it would be ok largered or gross??
