Built this today. Looking forward to strapping this to my immersion chiller and trying it out. Should hopefully chill the wort a lot faster whilst also whirlpooling out the cr@p etc.

I got the idea from http://www.mrmalty.com/chiller.php

Does anyone have any recommendation for a suitable pump? I was thinking this one but not sure how fast the whirlpool needs to be!?

Thanks

Brilliant!

I reckon the 12 litres a minute pump should be okay, especially as it replaces you swishing the wort around with a plastic spoon!

I would make sure that the jets point slightly into the centre and one of them is just past the outlet (and pointing away obviously) so that any solids in the wort can break away from the vessel wall before they reach the outlet. (Sorry, it's hard to explain what I'm suggesting!)

Hope this helps. :thumb: :thumb:
