Hi everyone,

Done a few brews now and just about to bottle/keg my latest, which means it’s time to get another one on the go.

As I’ve done a few brews I’m now looking to get more adventurous and try dry hopping out. I was thinking of going for the Wilko Golden Ale kit as I’ve heard it’s a good base kit to inject your own flavour into.

The flavour I like is tropical fruit (not grapefruit, which I know features in a lot of hops). My question is what hops are best to use for a strong tropical taste, specifically mango/citrus flavours and how many hops to use and (dare I ask) whether to get pellets, tea bags or flowers and then how long to leave them for. I’m also not a fan of very bitter brews.

Cheers in advance

First hop pellets are fine, thats what most of us use it seems to me. Tea bags are OK but expensive .
Next these might be useful in selecting your hop choice.

We all have our own personal favourites so best just select one or two and try them.
If you intend to dry hop or make a hop tea go for dual purpose or aroma hops not bittering hops.
And this might be of use for dry hopping

Finally, unless you are a real hop head, I suggest you limit your dry hop quantity to 50g . You will, after you have used a different hops, find out what suits your personal choice best and yoiu can adjust to suit with alittle experience.
