Just joined the forum and hope to pick up some good tips and read reviews.
Started home brewing again after a very long absence last August when my wife bought me a home brew kit from a local supplier. It came with everything needed to brew 40 pints including a pressure keg. The included pack was Woodfordes Wherry which having lived in Norfolk I was familiar with and the results were fine.
Since then I have tried St Peter's Ruby Red and Festival Old Suffolk Strong Ale these have been OK but I perhaps should have left them longer in the barrel to develop and clear. Just done another Wherry and kegged it after a week and started drinking after one more week. Nice and clear but probably not reached full strength. Amazing results in just two weeks!
To temper my impatience I have just bought another keg so in future will allow my brews longer in the barrel before sampling.
Starting off a Woodfordes Norfolk Nog tonight and reading the reviews on here I am looking forward to some enjoyable pints.
Happy brewing.
John.
