Quick update for anyone wondering if anything came of this thread
http://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=72797
Short answer no the landlord has taken it off the market as they have decided to extend the flat above it. But I am looking into a few alternatives:
Micropub only in Purley viewing on Monday

More of a brewery and tap room in Oxted

Micro pub only in Redhill viewing Wednesday

The Oxted one looks good - could be a properly characterful little place. Would you need to have your brewery downstairs and taproom upstairs or would you be able to have the brewery and taproom both upstairs?

:thumb:I know Oxted fairly well along with Purley, my mates live over in Coulsdon, sooooooooooo
if you get up and running we will be along:thumb:

I like the idea of that one the most but think it is the least viable as its round the back of the shops and has almost no visibility to any passing trade. My 1st thoughts for layout is to have all brewing and drinking upstairs but have fermenters and storage down.

I know what you mean about the passing trade. I wonder if you'd be allowed to have a sign or a board out on the road, but even that's going to be less effective than being out there.

On the other two sites would you need to be brewing offsite and just serving there?

I can have a sign on the road but even that is on the side street away from people passing. The other 2 there would likely be no brewing onsite, having all 3 would be great with Oxted primarily supplying the others, with Oxted only open on brew days which could be Friday and Saturday evenings. But I need to start with 1 and from past experience I am just hoping theres a change 1 will be OK with the landlord and council.
