New Brewing Lager Beer - Gregory J. Noonan: Brewers Publications 1996

New Brewing Lager Beer is one of my favorite brewing books. Whenever I have a brewing question it is the first place I look. If the answer is not found there then it is likely that the answer will only be found in a more highly technical book such as George Fix's Principles of Brewing Science.

Although the word "lager" is in the title don't let that fool you. New Brewing Lager Beer is an excellent book on brewing in general.

This book has a very good description of what the various parameters found on a typical malt analysis sheet mean and how they apply to brewing.

There is also an excellent section on step mashing and, of course, decoction mashing.

New Brewing Lager Beer has one of the best sections on water chemistry and adjustments thereof that I have seen.

Overall I would say this is one of the best brewing books out there.

New Brewing Lager Beer would be a good addition to any brewer's library.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
